WHO WE ARE

A Practice Built Around
the Anjung Principle

In a Malay home, the anjung is where guests are received — calmly, without rush. That is how we think about bringing AI into a small business.

OUR STORY

Where Anjung Tech Came From

Anjung Tech began in 2022 in Puchong, Selangor, from a straightforward observation: small clinics, workshops and professional offices in Malaysia were receiving more enquiries than their staff could comfortably handle, yet the AI tools available were either too large for their scale or too opaque to trust.

The founders — both of whom had spent time working inside small Malaysian businesses before moving into technology — wanted to build something different. Not a platform, not a SaaS subscription with forty features, but a practice. Something closer to how a good tradesperson works: show up, understand the job, do it carefully, leave clear notes.

The name comes from the raised front porch of a traditional Malay house — the place where a visitor is received before they enter the inner rooms. That is what we do. We sit at the threshold with our clients, work out what belongs inside the business and what can be handled at the door, and then we build accordingly.

Our first client was a dental clinic in Subang Jaya that was losing an hour each morning answering the same eight questions by WhatsApp. The Front Desk Assistant we built for them still runs today, unchanged in its limits and updated every month in its detail.

Since then we have worked with GP clinics, a motor workshop, an accounting firm, a tutoring centre, and a handful of independent retailers — all across Selangor and the Klang Valley. None of them had an IT department. Most of them had one or two staff members managing everything digital on the side of their main work.

We are a small practice on purpose. It keeps our attention on the businesses we already work with.

Our Mission

To make AI integration accessible and honest for small businesses — starting with the work that actually repeats every day, not the work that looks impressive in a pitch.

What We Value

Clarity over cleverness. A business owner should be able to explain to a customer what their AI assistant does and why. If they cannot, the setup is too complicated.

How We Work

Everything we build is documented and owned by the client. Our role is maintenance, not dependency. If you leave, you leave with everything intact.

THE PEOPLE

Who You Will Speak With

AH

Ahmad Hafiz

Co-founder & Setup Lead

Ahmad spent six years managing operations at a Klang Valley clinic group before shifting to AI implementation. He leads the initial setup and writes the response libraries with each client's team.

NL

Nurul Liyana

Co-founder & Client Relations

Nurul handles the monthly tune-up sessions and writes the plain-language notes that go to clients each month. She came from a background in SME consulting and brings a practical lens to what AI can and cannot usefully do.

RC

Ravi Chandran

Technical Integrations

Ravi handles the technical side of connecting AI tools to the channels businesses already use — WhatsApp, email, web chat. He joined Anjung Tech after contracting for several Malaysian fintech firms.

HOW WE WORK

Standards We Hold Ourselves To

Clear escalation rules

Before any assistant goes live, we document what it must never handle. These rules are written, stored, and reviewed at every monthly tune-up.

Data handled with care

We follow Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Customer enquiry data is used only for the purpose of answering the enquiry. We do not build analytics profiles from conversation logs without explicit agreement.

Full documentation

Every setup we build is documented in plain language so that the business can understand what they have, hand it to a new staff member, or move it to another provider.

Monthly review without fail

AI tools drift without attention. We check in every month, not when a problem is reported. Slow degradation is caught early this way.

Plain language reporting

We do not use dashboards or analytics platforms as the main reporting channel. Business owners receive a short written note each month. Most people read notes.

No lock-in by design

Month-to-month service, no penalty for leaving, full handover of all materials. Our retention comes from doing good work, not from making it difficult to leave.

OUR APPROACH

AI Integration Done at the Right Pace

Small businesses in Malaysia are often told they need to move fast on technology or be left behind. That framing creates poor decisions. A clinic that implements an AI assistant too quickly ends up with one that gives confused answers to patients — a worse outcome than having no assistant at all.

Anjung Tech takes the position that the first two weeks of any new AI setup should be supervised. The assistant suggests responses; a staff member approves before they go out. Only after that fortnight, when both the errors and the gaps are visible, does the assistant begin responding without review. This approach takes longer but produces setups that hold up.

For Feedback Summaries, the same patience applies. We do not present a summary as a complete picture. Individual low scores are always shown in full because a summary can mask a serious complaint by averaging it into the noise. The summary is a way in, not a replacement for reading.

All of this reflects a straightforward view: AI is a tool that needs to be fitted to a specific situation by people who understand that situation. We work with small businesses in Selangor and the Klang Valley because we know the operating environment. We are not reselling a global product. We are doing integration work, one business at a time.
